
Mike Arth
Mike Arth is a first-year MBA at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, a Tillman Scholar, and an inaugural member of the Gordian Knot Center's Defense Ventures program. Before coming to Stanford, Maj Arth was an Innovation Development Officer and pilot in Air Force Special Operations Command, stationed at Cannon Air Force Base, Ft Bragg, and Hurlburt Field over the course of a 12-year active duty career. Maj Arth continues to serve as an Air Force reservist assigned to Air Force Special Operations Command Headquarters where he supports efforts to bring innovative technologies to warfighters. Maj Arth graduated from Harvard University and entered the Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 365 at MIT. He flew as a Non-Standard Aviation pilot, operating mobility aircraft in support of special operations personnel across 5 continents. Following his active duty career, Mike worked for an early-stage, virtual reality company developing innovative training solutions for government clients and interned in venture capital. Mike hopes to leverage his experiences in the military and at Stanford to help drive the USG to more rapidly identify, develop, and acquire the technologies necessary to ensure battlefield success.
