Julia Betts Lotufo
Julia Betts Lotufo is a current senior, graduating this spring with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in English. Her interests in security, international relations, and human rights all intersect at technology policy, a field in which she hopes to build a career. At Stanford, she has researched social media’s potential for undermining election integrity in Brazil and the U.S. at the Stanford Internet Observatory (SIO). She has also worked as a research assistant at Stanford Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), tracking evolving AI legislation and regulation around the world. As a WINS scholar, she hopes to research unexpected, less-documented harms against women on the internet beyond harassment on social media.
