Jon Baize

Lieutenant Colonel Baize is currently The Secretary of Defense Executive Fellow at Waymo. Jon received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 2002, majoring in International Affairs with an emphasis in Japanese. He later went on to attended the Naval Command and Staff College in Newport, RI and is a Maritime Advanced Warfare Studies graduate. He also served as the “Skunk Works” Branch Chief where he worked closely with the Office of Net Assessment and focused on Joint Concepts. He was honored to serve as the Senior Military Aide to both Vice President Biden and Pence. 

In his most recent assignment, Lt. Col Baize served as the Commander of the 15th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Charleston, SC where he led 165 combat crew members who execute C-17A Globemaster III airlift missions worldwide for DoD and National Command Authority directives. He has multiple deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. 

Lt. Col Baize is a Senior Pilot with more than 4000 flying hours and more than 100 combat missions in the Globemaster C-17.
