Visit to GKC by Congressman Adam Smith
Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Adam Smith (D-WA) meets to discuss national security innovation
Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Adam Smith returned to Stanford’s Campus for a follow-up discussion on steps to increase the pace of change in America's national security enterprise. The Chairman’s discussion with members of the Gordian Knot Center focused on potential steps to boost innovation both within the Department of Defense and across the defense technology sectors in advance of Congress’ annual negotiations over the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The actual discussion was covered by Chatham House Rules.
Additionally, luck graced the Chairman’s visit as his beloved Washington University Huskies narrowly beat the Stanford Cardinal 20-14 with 21 seconds left on the clock the next day.
