Venture Capitalists gather at Stanford to discuss the Role of Liquidity in Defense Innovation
Silicon Valley Defense Group Event: Venture Capital for Defense Event Picture

The Silicon Valley Defense Group convened leaders from traditional VC, corporate venture, and government-funded efforts to discuss how the Department of Defense and Defense Industrial Base can better leverage the venture community.

The event was held at Stanford University, in partnership with The Gordian Knot Center for National Security Innovation. A small group, consisting of members of both the venture community and Stanford’s academic community, was invited to attend the event in person. The event was also broadcasted via Zoom for the public as well.

The VC for Defense Event began with a presentation by SVDG Advisory Board Member and Stanford University Professor Steve Blank. A video of this presentation can be viewed below, and slides from the presentation can be viewed here. Please also see this SVDG slide referenced throughout the presentation.

Steve Blank’s presentation was then followed by a roundtable discussion with active investors from traditional VC, corporate venture, and government-funded efforts. This discussion was held under Chatham House Rules.
